For Sale: 2004 Toyota Tacoma DoubleCab (PreRunner conversion to 4WD)

Location: Modesto, CA

Description: I am expecting my 3rd child soon so the time has come to part ways with the Tacoma. It has served me so well over the past 10 years and now I need a bigger vehicle. My 2004 Toyota Tacoma was originally purchased as a 4 cylinder PreRunner through a connection at NUMMI. I converted the vehicle (starting in 2010) to 4WD using all Toyota parts. You can review my build thread here:

The vehicle has been my daily driver and commuter for the past 10 years, and has never had any mechanical issues, but that results in high miles. I currently average about 18-19mpg in mixed driving. It doesn't leak a drop of anything, and fires up every morning without hesitation. The motor and transmission is completely stock (the transmission was re-built during the conversion since I had to open it up anyways). The 2.7L motor is no rocket, so keep that in mind. I did re-gear (5.29) to gain "some" power back. The truck will do 70mph while spinning 2900RPM all day. All fluids have been changed according to the manufacturer's guide. Tires are balanced and alignment is straight, the vehicle doesn't wander on the freeway at all. My build thread covers the entire process, but here is a list of the modifications:

ARB front bumper with receiver mount (with end cap mod)
ARB Air Lockers front and rear with 5.29 gearing
ARB compressor (with tire fill hose)
Complete OME suspension
Safari Snorkel
IPF lights
Blue Sea fuse box
255 BFG Mud Terrains (90% tread life left)
Toyota steel wheels
Manual locking hubs (non ADD front diff)
Demello spindle gussets (weld on)
Demello sliders (weld on)
Demello rear frame braces (weld on)
BudBuilt full skids
Outdoor Logic rear bumper with swing out
ARE camper shell
spray in bedliner
Dakota Digital speedometer calibrator
iPhone/iPod connection to stock radio
CB radio
ScanGauge II
axles and transfer case vents routed to under the hood
steel braided brake lines (fronts haven't been installed, but I have them)
Optima yellow top with custom mount
Wet Okole seat covers front and rear

I'm sure I'm forgetting something…so just ask!

Mileage: approx: 225,000 and counting

Price: KBB puts the truck at approx: 10K (with given mileage), I would like to get $14,000 o.b.o. everything included (fuel can and accessories, hi-lift, accessories for the compressor and tire repair kit, ARB tire gauge, small tool kit, wheel locks, etc).

Known problems: nothing known, the CSB is probably due, but I was going to do a one-piece driveline instead.

Please contact me via email since I cannot frequent the forum regularly, and thank you for your interest.

As indicated in the ad, several individuals were interested but reluctant at the price. Price has been dropped. Thanks for the input.
