Well, for better or worse, I decided to buy a Jeep. It is pretty much the coolest Jeep-based expo rig that I've seen here on the portal, but I've always been a Toyota guy so I'm a little nervous about it. Wish me luck. As a result of this purchase, I'm selling my 2008 TRD Offroad Tacoma with camper shell (though it only has a 5-foot bed, so not sure who can camp in there). The truck is 99% stock (just aftermarket radio and trailer brake controller) and in very good shape. There aren't too many of these running around with a manual transmission - I strongly prefer it, but I guess most don't.
I'm listing at $19k on CL, which is a little bit below KBB. I'll start it here at $18.5 if anyone is interested. Other than some light pin striping, the truck looks quite good. It's a very solid canvas for an overland project, which was my plan before I was seduced by shiny Jeep pictures. It has about 83k miles on it. I've owned it since about 33k with very few issues. I bought it in Carson City, NV and moved it to VA about 4 years ago.
