Thing's we love about our van: We love that with the battery capabilities, you are able to off grid, off road for a couple days depending on the time of year. You can be pretty self sufficient. That's the way we wanted it. We love the magnetic shades that fully black out the amazing window's for privacy when needed. We love the 12 volt AC on the roof. Game changer in the hot summers. We love that we have amazing memories from trips to various places near and far. Lastly, we love that this van NEVER let us down. Cold, Hot, Snowy, Rainy, no issues. We likely never had issues because I took very good care of the mechanicals with the help of a GOOD mechanic.
Thing's that aren't perfect that we could fix:
- The cabin blower doesn't full switch from foot controls, to windshield, etc. We just closed the vents to persuade the air to move the way we wanted it to.
- The backup camera cuts in and out currently. Likely a wiring issue near the camera itself.
- The question mark fix is possibly a new timing chain. At its last checkup a month ago, my mechanic noticed a slight noise upon a cold startup that last for a few seconds while the chain is being tensioned. It's drivable. The cost of this repair is likely $5,000 dollars. Not what I wanted to write on here as we are putting it up for sale, but honesty is what I would want if we were buying. It could just be the tensioner itself (which would be a less costly repair) but you wouldn't know until you did all the labor to get at the internals anyways. With this being said, we would accommodate for the sale price when selling. I will happily give my mechanic's phone number for discussion. He would be happy go over the maintenance we have done and the potential repair needed. He is an expert and only works on sprinters.
Lastly: Any questions, comments, concerns, please let me know and I will get you answers!
