FOR SALE: Mombasa Expedition Plus RTT9008 - Portland, OR - $650

As the title states, I have a Mombasa Expedition Plus RTT9008 up for sale for $650.
I puchased this tent as a demo unit from a distributor here in Oregon. It had only been used for display set ups on an expedition trailer up until that point. I used it for a trip through Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, Colorado, and all the way down to coastal Alabama in June-August. I slept in it approximately 10-12 nights. It was stored indoors and off the truck while I was in the south. I am moving soon, and really have no place to store it now, and don't want to move it with me. It is in great condition except for a spot on the outer cover where I brushed a low limb and it cut/rubbed through the first layer a little bit. I have included a picture. The tears did not go all the way through so it doesn't effect the protection of the tent by the cover. Also the Mombasa patches that were on the outer cover are gone. And the ladder has two sets of holes drilled for two different height settings. Besides that the tent is in good condition. There are no rips, tears, or holes. It should be ready for that trip down to Baja, which is what I wanted to do this season, but unfortunately, other things prohibit that at this point. This tent is the Expedition Plus Fabric that retails for $900 or so. It is also the khaki color with the green rainfly, not the green/green combo. The picture on the blue Montero is the actual tent. I never took a pic of it fully opened on my trip, but all parts are accounted for and included. The picture of the fully opened tent is the unit that I have, but this is a stock pic I took from the internet. I also have the changing room that has never been out of the box that will be included. I am willing to deliver or meet within a reasonable distance of Portland if needed, that is assuming the rack that the tent was mounted on doesn't sell before the tent does. The tent is currently stored inside my garage. And just to add, I have been registered on the site for a little while, and learned a lot from the forum, but I am not really a poster. More of an info collector/learner. I have exchanged PMs with a couple of members, and actually purchased the changing room from a member on this For Sale forum. I don't want anyone to be worried if interested due to my lack of posts. PM me if interested and I will send you my cell# and more details. Thanks for looking.

Open 94in (L) x 55in (W)
Closed 47in (L) x 55in (W) x 12in (H)
120lbs

For now I am in a smaller place than I was when I had a place to store the tent in Portland, however, in a few months I am moving back down to Alabama.

a.mus.ed - There is a thread on the forum I read a little while back with some shippers and some quotes, I can't remember exactly where the tent was coming from and going to, but I think it was a pretty good trek, and the quotes were around $130-150 or so I think, but not positive. I know there are a couple of places here in Portland that I can drop it off, they'll ship it to the warehouse in your location, and you can pick it up. I think its pretty reasonable given the size and weight. I'll see if I can dig up that thread tomorrow, and post it here or PM it to you. In the meantime, if you want to look into shipping, I don't think FedEx or UPS are cost effective, but there are others out there, my zip in 97239, and I don't have a problem delivering it to the shippers location.

When are you moving, and what's your route? I wouldn't be in any hurry to receive. I'll look into shipping options as well.

Going to be anywhere near Boise soon? Also, do you have it mounted on just two Thule bars or more? It's hard to tell in the pic. If they are Thule, how tall are the rain gutter towers? Thanks

I checked out Greyhound, they have a limit of 100lbs. I will check on Forward Air.

EDIT: Checked out the website...can't seem to find any information on getting a shipment?

I have been looking into shippers, but some people ask for a class, such as R and L Carriers, who I believe was recomended as a tent shipper in an old thread as a cheaper option. They do have a drop off spot in Portland. Anyway, to anyone in the know, what is the class of a rooftop tent so I can get an accurate quote? Thanks.

@ Conundrum - The tent was mounted on two Thule 65 inch load bars, and the high gutter feet mounts, which are 8 inches tall. I think those average retail for $150 or so without the load bars. My rack is also for sale, and I was looking to get $150 for the entire set up (including 4 locks and two keys), as the high feet are hard to find on the used market, at least they were here in Portland. I paid $190 for the whole set-up when I bought it. I will not be anywhere near Boise soon, but I am willing to drive within a couple hours towards any direction of Portland to meet anyone who may be interested.
