For those of you with suspension seats...how do you deal with seat belts?

Can you elaborate on which year models have this system?

G`day
I know for sure 07/08 + Fuso ( and Isuzu) Aus trucks (that is the model we did our second stage testing on). My guess would the earlier models in the US ( and probably at home) would have them as well since Ken`s truck has a stock cumfy suspension seat :)

I have a 2007 FG649 (Aust Canter) fitted with Stratos Suspension Lts3000 seats and the stock seat belts work fine.

Modern and new seats are more comfortable. We have a spring suspension from FUSO that is older , but the suspension does work. The seats are older and less supportive than new ones. It is a spring suspension and is affected by mechanical friction/ stiction. Not all that different from leaf springs in a way as one needs to overcome the friction between the leafs first for the system to function. Which is one benefit to parabolic's, but that is a whole different thread. I like the air suspension over a mechanical one. But back to the topic; the fuso seat height is the issue. I am not too concerned with neck protection in the seat as the back wall provides that. In fact I have removed my headrests for that reason. They seemed to push my head fwd. I may actually prefer the lower seat back. the industrial seats really do seem like the ticket.

For what it's worth - fixing the truck suspension is the real solution. The stock seats aren't that bad if that problem is solved. I was concerned with the headroom issue with a suspension seat (I'm tall) and want to maintain the ability to seat three in the cab. I had the stock seats rebuilt wth extra padding and added adjustable lumbar support and seat heaters and they are quite comfortable. Beaverton Upholstry did the work if you are in the Portland, Oregon area and they did a great job.

True - not stock any more but not suspension seats. My truck's first life was as a construction mechanics truck and the seats were shredded from the guys climbing in and out with pockets full of tools. Leaving them alone was not an option.

In my opinion, pretty much anything is better than the OEM seats.
You are absolutely right in saying that improving the suspension is the best solution. Adding better seating just takes it from "I will happily drive it now" to "my wife is happy to ride in it too". :)
