Ford AEV FXL

It's funny; they've been talking about this since 2022. Four years later, they finally release it, and I couldn't be more underwhelmed. Over on the Tremor forums, it's not getting much love. It's going over like a wet blanket in the middle of January.

I had high hopes for the fenders and bumpers, and while I'd like to reserve my opinion on the front bumper until they release the full wrap version, I must admit that I am lukewarm on it. The fenders will allow for 40's on a small lift, but most don't like how they went with a square shape on a round fender, which I also dislike, as it screams GM!

The biggest issue for me is from AEV it’s a $30,000 upgrade to an already expensive vehicle. A Larait Tremor with the 7.3L Gas once you start throwing options at it is $90,000 alone. Now I’m supposed to up that to $120,000 for the AEV lift, wheels, bumpers, and tires? And that’s missing the coolest feature every 12 year old wants, the Snorkel (Raised Air Intake). It’s just a lot of money!

I personally love the bumper and square fenders, but tastes and colors… At least there is no denying it’s a good thing to have more options for full size trucks.

I'm alright with the front bumper but not enough for the premium price.. The wheels are a miss which is a bummer because I dig the RAM Salta wheels. The only thing they could possibly get me to buy is a snorkel and that is not even offered.

Ehh, round peg, square hole, GM things, but to each his own.

It kind of looks like they are almost running out of fender on the front to make it an arch...

Add an inch or two to the flare to round it out and it will be getting into that bodyline. Gotta make the rear match so you don't end up looking like someone stuck a Brick/Aero nose bed onto a Bullnose where the wheel arches don't match.

It is kind of comical how the tires make a freaking huge Super Duty look small.

I agree the "squareish" fenders don't look good. A reason I will never by GMC or Chevy. But I am surprised no one has commented on those stupid foot wells in front of the rear wheels and on the rear bumper. They look stupid and if anyone was going to use them it would be me, at only 5' 6", but I wouldn't buy a truck with those stupid things.

Actually probably not.

They are level with the top of the 18" wheel with approximately 11" of tire under under it. Thats like 29", almost to your waist...

I wish my current truck had them...sure be a help to me when grabbing stuff out of the bed. But then to me, "looks" on a scale of 1 to 10 would be about 99. Don't give a damn what it "looks" like as long as it is functional. In my nearly 80 years on this planet I've never bought a vehicle because of what it "looks" like, only consideration was if it would do what I needed it to do.

Is that just a sto

Yeah, my F-150 isn't nearly as tall but with the super deep bed it is hard to get anything over the side of the bed and I am 6'-3".

TFL did a video with Dave Harrington. He hinted that other things you see on Ram and Chevy/GMC are coming later this year.
