I have been looking at the Slick locks .... I will be getting them in the near future (I just have to save some $$) they are not cheap...... but they are cheaper than replacing all my stuff ... :)

I just removed the linkage, so you have to use electric locks to get in back there. Someone pops the cylinder nothing there.

The whole plate/handle panel is just plastic, it isn't hard to rip it out to get to the latch linkage (and cheaper than replacing a window if you have to break into your own van).

As to the slicklocks, I have never been a fan of a lock that can only be used from the outside on a passenger vehicle--but I don't go around giving candy to little girls...

when I'm inside I won't put the slick locks on. if they try and get in while I'm inside they will be met with the barrel of a shotgun. The locks would be for when I'm away from the van... :)

I bought the van with an ABUS lock on the side doors so I might just add another to the back so its the same key

I did call babaco because it looked like a nice integrated solution but its $400

Yes, but it would be really easy for someone to lock them (with their own lock or carabiner) while you are inside. Maybe just some friends to screw with you during that 3 am pee break, maybe not...

Here is an interesting option I have been looking at using on my Sprinter van -

3056_Van_Door_Lock_side.jpg

Made by a company called Milenco Ltd. out of England - http://www.milenco.com/

Available in the USA from a company called JR Products www.jrprvinc.com Listed at the bottom of the page under "exterior door hardware".

They offer a couple of interesting products - all of which do not use padlocks - the keyed cylinder is part of the unit itself. One interesting product is a front door lock which is mounted on the inside of the door that twists down and blocks the door from being opened.

While you guys are locking your doors, you're forgetting how easy glass breaks. Also there is a power lock button you can bend a coat hanger slip through a window push the button and unlock the doors.

I locked my keys and remote inside while camping and I was back in my van in about 30 seconds from the time I walked up to it with a coat hanger.

NOTHING is totally secure. Peace of mind is nice but if they want in they will get it.

Don't park it there if you don't feel safe.

Yes.... And you didn't want to do any damage, even faster if you don't care!
