Fording a river or Africa is not for sissies

The croc picture was not photo shopped. Some unfortunate Zimbabwean didn't quite make it out of the Zambezi River. The rest of guy was found inside the reptile. Just one of lifes many challenges for a lot of rural Africans. They wash clothes in the rivers, fish, wade across rivers, and many need to just collect water for day to day survival.

Oh come on now everyone knows that arm belongs to zoo vet, Chang Po-yu from Taiwan.

Google Croc with Arm...:Wow1:

There also was a croc that was gutted with human remains in it, not for the faint of heart by the way.
No playing in the water or petting crocs, it has some very dangerous consequences.

I was going to put one of these in there instead. The croc was shot near Chirundu Zimbabwe. But thought it was a bit too gruesome. The earlier one came in the same email and was mislabeled. For that I am sorry. But it still illustrated my point.

Fantastic story thank you for sharing it.

I took it that 'croc was photoshopped at first as well.

Yikes, thats bad. I remember seeing some of these photos posted. Being lunch for a croc is bad anyway you look at it. Consequently I left out the smiley after my previous post. My apologies for seeming trite. Best wishes to you in your travels, it is mighty kind of you to share photos of your expedition. That is what makes this a great site for me to visit. We get to live somewhat vicariously through others experiences. :coffeedrink:

I love stories like yours. Overland trips with a sense of danger (crocs and lions) the zambezi rivermouth is also home to nasty sharks that travel up river from the ocean (I saw in a NG show.)
