Forgive the dumb awning question...

...But I can figure out the size measurements on these things!

I'm looking at either the ARB or Camping Lab awnings and I can't quite grasp their size measurements. Do the sizes mean their width (length of mounting along the side of the vehicle) or the the length they extend out from the "housing?"

The __", 70" and 79" measurement is the length along the roofline from the windshield to the rear hatch.

The 84 or whatever, measurement is the distance away from the vehicle the the awning extends (from the housing). As far as campinglab goes, they ALL have this same extension length. Same for the ARB I would think.
