I've been lurking for a while waiting for an opportunity to build something. I think I just found it. Pending an inspection in person I will be picking this up for $130.

This might be a slow build but we'll see. My plan is to use the cedar boxed Pikes Peak trailer as a model. Here goes nothing!

Grabbed 4 used BFG M/T 255/75/17's off of Craigslist today. Picking them up tomorrow. 2 are almost new, 2 are pretty much garbage. I will probably just recycle the other two. Also grabbed a Jeep JK take off rim, looking for one more. I hope to start stripping the trailer apart tomorrow to see what I am working with.

Received the wheel adapters/spacers in the mail yesterday. Also receiver one of the rims which needs to be prepped for paint. Going to a local microbrew beer fest today so I will probably start tomorrow before football is on. :)

Sanded the rim for painting and I hope to receive the other today. I have decided to chop up the frame and rebuild it so a buddy (my welder) is coming over later to discuss the amount of work we are looking at. I also found a local steel place that is contantly filling a bin with rejected steel and selling it for the cost of scrap weight.

Very slow build going on here...geez. Anyway, I was scouring through my local CL last night and found this. The guy wants $650 for it. Says that the springs & shackles are new and that the sides/floor are made from "heavy gauge steel." Also said that the axle is from a wrangler. We'll see. Going to check it out today. Is $650 a good price?
