Some bantams had tailgates,, the civilian models did, and stake pockets,, but at 300 it would be a good deal.. how bout some pics..

The WWII T3 and MBT, also the Korean era M100, had no tailgate and no stake pockets inside the trailer tub. The Bantam civilian T3-C has a tailgate, stake pockets and 3 tie downs on each side (vs. 4 on military trailers). Photos would help identify what you have.

has a handbrake, aparently, and the tailgate is supposedly stock.

btw, i have an LJ...i wouldn't be looking to restore it. I'd more likely resto-mod it.

I can't tell from the photos whether there are grab handles on the front corners. If so, it is an M100.

There appear to be 4 tie downs on the side - which confirms it is military not civilian. The pintle hook is also military.

The tailgate is most likely not original. The WWII Bantam T-3 and Willys MBT did not have tailgates. Neither did the M100 or M416. The only military 1/4 ton trailer with tailgate of which I am aware is the very rare T-6 built for the Navy in extremely limited numbers. An Australian collector I know of has one of these, and I have seen photos of two more.

I went and met the owner of this trailer. I have an m416 and was looking at this for a friend about a month ago. It needs a LOT of work, to say the least! The tub is all rusted out and has been pieced together with metal in the front. The hitch rails are welded weird and the tail gate is rusted open. I did a pretty extensive rebuild on my trailer and would not even touch this one. But to each his own and they are getting harder and harder to find. I have a bunch of pics of it i might be able to find and send to you if you are serious about it but I was gonna offer $150 and I just walked away. It has to be towed on another trailer as you can imagine. Good luck!

here are some pics. The lunette has been welded and braced weird. The tailgate has been cut in and braced on the corners. The front of the tub has a 2ft section that was cut out and a piece of galvanized pipe and steel sheet have been welded in. There are numerous holes in the tub(no pic of that) There is a data plate but it is too weathered to read. the under carriage is also very rusty and the leaves would need to be replaced. There are four tie downs on each side as well as handles on at least a few of the corners. The landing leg didnt work right as I remember too but it seems he may have wacked it with a hammer to get it straight. Hope this helps. Also the trailer is WAY out there. Dont know where you live but its no "barn" find after a loooong drive! Oh yea and I was the one who told him it was a hand brake....he kept telling me it was a dumper lever, lol.

well it wont let me post pics............sorry folks. Pm me if you want them

Buy it..

Sandblast / paint / pull it..

I have seen trailers without bed floors at all go for $500 down here.

If the floor is rotted out a quick fix is a section of junk yard pickup bed.

Warning:
I am very cheap - and used to welding rusty stuff.

If the lunette can be saved, the frame isnt rotted thru,, and the spring mounts are still good,, I'd say its worth the 3 bills.. you could part it out and be ahead just selling the lunette assembly(if complete).. and you could always blast it cut off the bed,, and get the panels and rebuild it.. can be done cheap or $$ like an exact resto.. but good for 3 bills if it rolls.. are they bolt together combat wheels???

Cruiser has a point..

The resto guys will pay good money for the military specific parts.

The axle and components can be parted out. - Robert Bills is looking for some of the brake components.

I saw a V-casting go on bay a while back for $610.
