Frame paint?

For painting the chassis, POR15 is generally viewed even over here as the best product. Marine paints like those used for oil/gas rigs or ships should also be pretty effective. However, painting requires a lot of rust removal. A thorough steam clean followed by the correct spec Dinitrol on the chassis exterior and interior and all the door/body cavities may be better as it goes on over surface rust and has inhibitors and it doesn't chip or flake.

thats standard operating procedure right there.

At one point, my friend and I were so well versed in swapping diffs that we could do the whole process from drain oil to fill oil in about 15 minutes (using air tools).

I'd gladly pay you to come(or me come to boston) swap my diffs when I get mine back from GBR if you're interested!

Fronts are slightly worse, 15 minutes was a rear diff with steel wheels (so you could pop the shafts out without taking wheels off)

On an older truck the fronts are quick if you pull the 7 bolts holding the swivels on each side and slide each knuckle out a few inches complete, but thats not possible on a D2. Happy trails.

Thankfully its a D1 so that is what I did on the front, only hand tools which slows me down

Ok back on the road, although I think I took the long way of getting there. I got a free diff from a coworker, but it didnt have a driveshaft flange on it, and the pinion was the earlier style pinion and mine is the later style, so I have to strip both diffs and swap the gears between the two.
