I've been using these for about a month now and all I can say is they are awesome for the price (Free!)
I have a relative who works in produce at a grocery store and he turned me onto these nifty little totes that beans come in. They have stacks and stacks of them so I went in and grabbed some (with permission lol) to organize the back of my car. He (my relative) uses them to organize things in his garage.
The sides fold and snap into place some have little locking levers, they are not the most heavy duty but I use them in my car to organize my emergency gear and tools, and extra fluids that I keep on hand.
When broken down they are only about an inch thick.
Oh yah, and they stack on each other too, albeit, not very positively but they do have little tabs to prevent them from simply toppling over.
I would definitely ask the produce people about these little things next time you are at the grocery store. Not sure how your stores work for those outside of the US, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. If you don't use them in your vehicle, they are at least handy to keep in the garage or shop and take up almost no space when they aren't needed.
Here they are stacked, bottom one is the taller size, top is shorter.
I use the bottom one to hold spare fluids (no, the gas can does not have gas in it)
Here is how flat they are when broken down. (The one I'm lifting is an assembled one, the one beneath is collapsed)
