Are you planning on running 2 of them? 9000BTU seems a bit low for that size no?

Just one will be enough. Our insulation is R14 and we are in Canada. Of course, in the desert at 40, it will probably be too small. But there’s a lot of sun and it can run 100% on solar panel (2500w) without going in the battery bank
