Ok the treasure hunt involved buying a new trailer to transport a couple of these.

I may have missed it but what is the table that looks like it's hooked to the passengers side of your rig at OXE? I've been looking for something similar but haven't found it yet. Any better pictures or a source to get one?

Awesome rig btw. :smiley_drive:

I'm planning on doing basically the same thing, so I grabbed a screenshot from the video so I could get a better look at it.

I'm going to build my table because it needs to be a specific size, but I would like to know more about the hardware used to mount it. I was planning on using some stainless marine type stuff, but that looks pretty simple. I especially like the telescoping extensions on the ends of the bottom legs so it can be leveled better.

The table is a piece of ply hooked on using an old set of Thule mounts. The Thule table was not long enough to go over the wheel arch on this rig.

Ok, this may have been covered already, but I'm on a cell at the moment and feeling search handicapped.

My Japanese wife wants to know.... what the heck is vegimite, what does it taste like, how is it used, and what is it made out of?

This is for you Oz. We're out to dinner and reminiscing about the World Walk at Epcot and how we didn't make it to "Australia" while we were there.

I'm an Aussie also in the US following these forums. Vegemite looks like axle grease and tastes like salt. It is a yeast extract I think and should be put sparingly on buttered toast or SAO biscuits (that's crackers to yanks).
Other Aussies will give more accurate descriptions.
"We're happy little Vegemites as happy as can be
We all enjoy our Vegemite for breakfast and for tea
Because we love our Vegemite
We all enjoy our Vegemite
It puts a rose in every cheek"

A salt flavored yeast extract that looks like grease? No offense but bleh! I think maybe you guys should shove that stuff back in the yeast it came from and maybe go for some good old fashioned jam on your toast and biscuits. :)

Good description Rider Bloke. When you put it like that it might be an acquired taste (like those grits, hush puppies and fried okra they tried to poison me with this week).

For our family the first solid food we had was vegemite on a crust.

The good news is that having been raised on it we can even handle the taste of American domestic beers (if nothing else is available)

For those that are wondering how comfortable these vehicles are to travel in. We just did 355 miles in 5:45 in a single sitting (no stops). No complains from the other half.

We didn't have any problems driving back to MN from PA after I bought mine, but since then, I've bought some trucker's urethane seat pads. They make any trip a lot more painless.

Cheese grits aren't too bad, and hush puppies are ok if made well, but I am totally with you on the fried okra. Crunchy on the outside, gooey slime on the inside. Makes me think that's what a deep fried earthworm must be like.

Too be honest I think just about all beer is hurl worthy, domestic or no. For some stupid reason though I can tolerate a Corona as long as it's got that lime in it. Go figure...

Ya gotta have a 'big ole mess of mullet' to go with those cheese grits and hush puppies. Add some coleslaw and a big glass of sweet ice tea, and you have a meal fit for a king! :chowtime:

tgreening - then you'd like Australia. I was surprised to find that the most-common premium import beer there was Corona!

So... back to the rig discussion and the suspenseful photo. Are you going 4WD? It looks like you're bringing back a front drive axle. Inquiring minds want to know!

Agreed also on the okra - I lived in a house with the remnants of a garden in back, and we found some okra growing, but once I tasted it, we decided all it was good for was tent stakes. Hush puppies & biscuits and gravy are a lot more my speed (tonight's dinner will be biscuits & gravy, maybe with a fried egg or two!). Coffee instead of sweet tea, though.

Just remember what I learned many years ago -- 4WD lets you REALLY get stuck good...!

Ciao (or should it be chow..?)

Yep 2 steer axles to make it 4WD and maybe 4 wheel steer in the future (only a few degrees) but that is way in the future. For now it is just seeing if I can fit them under the rig. Basic tape measure engineering says yes but physics will rule the day. One of the issues will be just moving these around. At 1700 lbs it will not be fun. Getting a driveline to the front axle will also be a challenge.
