fridge replacement

hello all
got a northstar tc 800 popup .fridge has --itted out . trying to decide,find best replacement.want to go 12 volt and dual battery.looked at engel but built
in dimensions are off.thought of modifying fridge area and put in portable type fridge"overlander style" but doing this would weaken integerity.
any thoughts,ideas would be helpful

I replaced the 3 way fridge in our FWC with a Nova Kool 12v compressor setup. Been very happy with it and was almost an identical size to the one I was replacing. I just had to put a 3/4" strip of wood along the top edge to close up the gap as it was not quite as tall. They are used a lot in the marine environment and are getting more common in the RV world. They make a bunch of different sized ones so you'll likely find one that fits.

Look around at all the manufacturers/models to see what may work for you. Off the top of my head: ARB, Engle, Edgestar, Novakool, Waeco, Dometic, Isotherm, etc. Lots of options.

I am curious- were you able to remove the fridge from your N*800? What unit did you ultimately go with? We have an 850SC and I have wondered how easy (or difficult) it would be to remove the fridge.
