From a Rubicon to a 4Runner

I decided that my Rubicon Unlimited was too purpose built for my current needs and I wanted something with a few more creature comforts, so I traded it in on a 2013 SR5. At 531 miles today, I added OME coils and maintained the factory struts / shocks. The ride is still very comfortable and the increased spring rate is barely noticable. I went with 2884 front coils and 2895E rear coils. The truck now only has 1/2" of rake. The brake dive and body roll is alomst completely gone. Overall, very happy with my first mod. Up next....new tires and design / build a rear cargo system with sliding drawers.

I can relate to the change- rubi to 4runner. Looks good and more importantly, drives better. Why not change the shocks and struts with the coil upgrade?

I decided to stay with the factory shocks / struts after discussing "ride quality" with ARB and Wheeler's Offroad. I wanted to reduce as much of the brake dive and body roll as possible with negatively impacting the ride quality. They both suggested sticking with the factory equipment. I did give up some travel, but if I really wanted extreme suspension travel for offroad, I'd kept the Rubi.
