In the picture above, I have circled where my diff fluid is leaking from (passenger side axle tube). About a month ago, I swapped in a Aussie Locker, and so, obviously had to fill the diff with gear oil again. My question is should the gear oil be completely sealed inside the differential? I don't see how it could since there was no rubber grommets or anything (that I could see).
It has only leaked since having the front at an incline, so the fluid would gravitate towards the back end and seep into the axle tube from my understanding. My question: Is this normal for the fluid to escape the differential itself at an incline or sideways angle? I filled the diff up to the filler hole when the front was slightly lifted higher than the back.
Also the tube leaks just a little bit at a time, then I check the fluid level inside the diff, and it's still nearly full, so not much is leaking, it just keeps leaking it after my truck gets at a steep incline it seems.
Thanks for any advice...
