For Sale: 1987 Mitsubishi Montero Gen1

This is my son’s truck. We purchased it just over a year ago to fix up and have some fun. It’s in good overall running and driving condition. Steering is tight and shifts great! This is a really fun cool truck and just needs a little more loving to be perfect. We have two other truck projects currently. A 300 tdi defender build and restoring a RRC and just don’t have the time to dedicate on this one.

This truck has just under 200K miles from new. Truck has just over 10K miles on complete engine rebuild with weber carb. new fuel pump, exhaust and wiper motor and 16” alloy rims w/ BFG 255/85/16 MT’s . Customer HD front and rear bumpers. Dash rug, rear tub has roll on bed liner. Factory skid plates. Thule roof bars.

I have complete front and rear brake package ready to install but have not had time. All parts come with truck.

This truck has zero rust on the chassis. It does have two small spots that need to addressed eventually. One on the drivers windscreen upright. The other is on the drivers door post. Truck has factory AC but system need to be recharged.

Seats cover are coming apart but seat foam is in good condition. (Gen 2 Montero seats are direct bolt in.)

Scott, having a little difficulty finding info- what engine does it have? Weight? FF rear axle? Considering it as a tow behind for the Navion, thanks!
And if you have a manual, what about details as a dinghy? Can it be flat towed?

This would make a good tow behind. Truck is a 4cyl w/ 5 speed. Yes and flat tow, weight 3178lbs

This is a perfect candidate for a 4D56T diesel swap. They are a direct bolt in to this gearbox and engine mounts.
