I bought a brand new Honda EU2000i generator last week from the local honda dealer in montrose, CO. After using it in Moab for one night for my CPAP breathing machine I decided to install a dual optima battery system. This generator is suppose to be the quitest made and I'm sure it is, but that said I would never subject anyone else to having to hear it all night long. My wife and I could barely hear it in our roof top tent, but I'm sure others within spitting distance could. i must admit that I wouldn't want anyone near me using one at night, so after doing the inverter and dual battery install I'm going to let it go. It has only one nights use and is under full warranty like new and I'm including the optional cover and optional battery cable charging kit for $900.00, I paid $1075.00. Can include the original receipt to the buyer. I will accept paypal and pay the fee myself. This link is for information onlyhttp://www.hondapowerequipment.com/ModelDetail.asp?ModelName=eu2000i

Off topic a bit but....I use a CPAP machine as well. Most support a 12V adaptor plug in addition to 110V AC. I run mine directly off 12VDC in my trailer and it works great. Running thru an inverter works but draws a bit more power than running straight off 12VDC.

I also have the Honda generator and it works great, but I only use it to recharge my batteries when low or needing the additional power for a short period....at night, it's all quiet on 12VDC only. :) I hope that helps on the CPAP.

also off topic but I'm looking for future options to mount a nebulizer in a filtered box. Interesting to read someones having decent luck running a CPAP off of a dual batt & inverter. You can run your machine all night, no worries?

Brad can't thank you enough, i've had this CPAP for 8 years and never knew that it ran on DC also. Ordered this on-line from the company that I get all my CPAP stuff from (No Insurance) http://www.cpapsupplyusa.com/Dc-12-Volt-Power-Cord-For-Respironics-1001956.aspx

Will run a seperate cigarette plug off of the auxilary optima yellow top this weekend to run my CPAP and not use the newly installed inverter.

I'll report my progress after 4 days in Canyonlands next weekend.

Yes, I have a bank of 4 small batteries that total 140HA. You can almost get that with one large group 31 battery, two would exceed my capacity. I am also running a an 84 qt Waeco fridge and I have no problem running the CPAP all night.

Ben,

I'm glad I could help. I was surprised too when I found out about the 12VDC option. I used to run mine off an inverter and now I don't even have to listen to that fan.

Now, back to the previously scheduled Honda Generator sale.:costumed-smiley-007
