Fuel Injectors for my D1

Thought I'd share my experience buying a set of injectors.
After searching, the cheapest I found were at Summit Racing
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FMS-M-9593-C302

The problem is that they have a store in Georgia, but it's too far a drive, so with shipping and tax (because of the Georgia store) they would be a bit over $245 at my door.

I did some more looking and found them also at:
http://www.streetsideauto.com/products2.asp?brand=BDXX&partnumber=M-9593-C302
They offer free shipping on orders over $50.
I'd never heard of them so I rang them to see if they were in stock and when they would ship. They told me in stock and would ship that day.
The guy also gave me a Tuesday $25 off coupon code to use online. So I got them for $194 at my door.
The online order process was quick and easy and they provided a tracking number in the shipment notification email.
I ordered them on Tuesday and they arrived a few minutes ago.

edit to fix price typo.

Ford 19# injectors? Couldn't you just go to any hotrod shop and get a bucket of slightly used ones for free? ;)

Maybe, but I've already swapped mine out for a used set I had on my shelf and didn't feel like the potential of fooling with them again.
And since I know little of the hotrod world, I wouldn't begin to know where to look or why they may be giving away a bucket full of slightly used ones. ;)

I put these on my 99 disco and like them a lot. A few days ago I popped the hood on my dads v10 excursion and saw they are the exact same fuel injector.

So, how do you like the Ford Injectors?
Does it run smooth?
Are they a straight swap in?

Why are you changing Injectors? Was there a problem?

I put 24 pound Blue tops in my 5.0 motor. I had them in the 4.6 too. Much better atomization of the fuel, if anything they just seem to make the car run smoother.

I've not installed them yet (just arrived this morning).
It's not running well and codes indicate (based on conversations with a respected Rover guy) that the injectors are a likely culprit. And with almost 260k miles I figured it couldn't hurt.
So well see.

I'm just pulling your leg. :)

The 19# injector was used on... damn I don't know what it wasn't used on. ;) For example, 5.0L Mustangs used them from the factory, and they were very commonly swapped out, whether people needed them or not. Guys were throwing 24's in soon as they did any little thing to that engine. It's a very common OEM injector because it matches the flow rate needed for most N/A engines. Even where they could have gotten away with smaller injectors (such as an anemic Rover engine) they still used the 19's.

I've got 4 of them in a box somewhere that came out of my Focus from when I put the 42 pounders in.

I actually use silicone grease on the o-rings.
The first time I had them out (when I did my valley pan gasket) I had to buy a new fuel rail. Mine was all rusty in the cups. I tried to use the one that had been on my Defender, but a couple leaked in it and I couldn't polish the inside well enough to stop the leak. It was rusty too, but not as bad as the Disco one, so I was hoping. Luckily TNLR actually had them on special at the time and I had it the next day.
