Fuel Transfer

I've heard of people getting the rattler stuck in the vehicle fuel fill. So I personally wouldn't recommend it. I know my Nissan has a hinged flap in the fill pipe that would snag the metal rattler for sure on exit. I'm sure others whom actually have a SS can weigh in on the subject.

The rattle end goes into the fuel can, the open end of the hose goes into the tank and will clear the opening.

Has anyone used a safety siphon to transfer fuel from a vehicle to a jerry can? I assume the diameter allows for this?

My 4runner has an anti siphon screen, most newer vehicles seem to have this as well, although I'm sure there's some exception to that rule.

even if you could drop it down through the filler neck, you would have to reach the bottom of the tank and keep the end of the siphon even lower. probably not practical.

NO
The fuel source has to be higher then the flow of the hose into the fuel tank of the truck.

I don't know if you can pour a can into the tank, or if you have to transfer it.
I've used the standard ECO spout from Rotopax to pour fuel from their 4 Gallon can into my Bronco a couple of times. I was actually impressed with how well it worked, and it didn't leak at all.

Same here. In fact I got a couple of their "Self Venting Spouts" and they work very well too.
