Fuso FG649 Frame rebuild help

I'm starting to research replacing frame rails on my FG649. I will just be replacing the rear of the frame at the joint about a 9ft section. Anyone have any experience on best steel to use. Can I get away with using 1/4 mild steel and just forming the rails with a press break, from what I can tell the original frame is around 3/16 but not mild steel. I'm in Northern Canada so shipping from the US isn't worth it.

Pugsly hasn't posted for a while, there's a thread on this forum where he rebuilt a whole frame and probably has a good drawing and some advice on steel.

You have to use a high strength alloy, mild steel will not do the job. I laid mine out in Autodesk inventor and had a local heavy fabricator build the frame rails and crossmembers.

The stock frame is .177 44k psi yield HSLA steel

My replacement frame is .25 80k psi yield HSLA steel.

I just looked at your build. Do you have any problems with your frame being to stiff. I know the original frame was built to be pretty flexible. Do you think maybe A656 3/16 or would you stick with 1/4. I'm just planning on using it for a truck camper.
