I'm looking at getting a Fleet and wondering what you all have in your kitchen?
There's a fridge, two-burner stove, sink.
Do you bring any extra appliances? Toaster oven, blender, food processor, etc?

and if so, how does it affect your battery life?

anything else to add?

thanks!

We have a full inside set up but mainly cook outside. We bring a Coleman stove & BBQ grill both using propane. Most of our food prep is down before we leave. Basic cookware including a cast iron skillet & filter holder to drip coffee.

Do you bring any other appliances or is everything done with stove/grill?

Not sure where you would carry those extra items? ;)

I bring a jet boil because it's fast and easy to heat up water for coffee and dehydrated meals. And a small French press. And a flat folding charcoal bbq. But I really don't cook much. It might be nice to have a small propane bbq as most areas right now have banned fires and charcoal. I do enjoy smoothies but since freezer space is limited I don't envision making smoothies on the go.

Ha! I was looking at my blender this morning and thinking "that could fit on the counter in the Fleet... maybe. But would I use it? Do I need it?"

French Press! Yes! That's a must.

Jet boil instead of the campers' stove?

I like smoothies too. Was considering selling the blender and getting a much smaller Bullet, but I didn't consider the limited freezer space. Hm.

The jet boil is just quick and easy, that's all. I only use it outside. Just takes a couple minutes to boil, no moisture or fumes in the camper etc. I haven't tried any small 12v blender, but like I said freezer space is limited. Which reminds me that I need to find some half size ice cube trays (or cut one in half) for whiskey, much higher priority than smoothies for me.

Oh, that's handy. I've researched the JetBoil, but wouldn't have thought of that.

On that whiskey ice - no water needed, these keep it from getting watered down, but still chilled.
That said, I haven't used em and might be kinda weird to not have ice not melt.

We do everything on the stove & grill. We do put ice cream or ice cream sandwiches in the freezer. It's a nice treat when in the middle of nowhere.

I have seen some regulars in Saline Valley using a hand crank blender to make Margaritas. The thing clamped to a table like an old style vise. Requires some elbow grease, bit quite functional.

Oh, that's interesting!
Although I take my margaritas on the rocks... :) but sounds good for smoothies!
I'll hafta look those up and check em out
