Is this a wide body Hawk??? I can't find the dimensions on their website and am interested in the one that just got posted for sale...
Will this fit a double cab 1st gen tundra or just the access cabs?
Thanks
Matt

IIRC the Kestral is a (wide body Eagle) and it "will" fit the 1st gen Tundra AC, but "not" the DC.
I think it mostly has to do with the DC cab height being a couple inches taller than the AC and/or possibly some differences in bed depth. I'd get some very exact measurements from the seller and compare it to your truck.
Here is a good side by side comparison of two 1st gen Tundras in each flavor:

I think you can see in post #48 that the DC body is just a bit taller and wider.

Looks like a good deal on the pre-owned FWC. There's a reason they get snapped up fast.
When I was considering a FWC a while ago I believe they said the Hawk was the appropriate camper for the 1st gen Tundra DC.
I would contact Stan @ FWC for the exact scoop/info before making an offer.

I seem to recall it was a modified hawk rather than an eagle to fit one of the tundra models. Talking to Stan would be best though.

Edit: I found a description on WTW: The Kestrel is a Hawk modified to fit on a pre 2007 Toyota Tundra with 6' bed. The modification is necessary as The Tundra bed is 3” less deep compared to Ford/Chev/Dodge. This makes interior height 3 inches less than a Hawk. Out side of removing 3” of height the Kestrel is a Hawk.

Whoops! I stand corrected. (I was confusing the Fleet/widebody Eagle with the Kestral.) My bad!:smilies27
Sounds like the difference might be interior standing height only?

I think they add it to the soft sides so the standing height isn't changed, just the hardwall portion and thus height when it's closed inside. I think if they didn't do this there would be a large gap between the top of the cabover and truck cab.

The 3" comes out of the floor pack. The hard walls and pop-up portion remain the same as a Hawk. This prevents a large gap between the bottom of the side walls and top of the truck bed. This also results in have to use a single 20# horizontal propane tank, rather than the typical (2) 10# vertical tanks.

Floor pack is part of the "hard structure", that is what I was trying to clarify but thanks for that clarification. Could you please advise if extra height has in turn been added back into the soft sides to maintain the same standing room height, your post tends to indicate it does not since you said the pop-up remains unchanged? Obviously in the closed position it is 3" shorter internally.

No extra height is added into the soft sides. The interior height is indeed 3" lower.

Can someone post a picture of a Kestral please- Im trying to make a decision on which model I should get for my 2006 Tundra but can't find a pic of a Kestral- also wanted to confirm that the Kestral is a Hawk with three inches removed from the bottom?
