FWC's 'sprung' at the front/top... what's the deal?

I don't know about the recent models, but the FWC roofs (and ATC) were 'domed' when built. They would weld up the roof frame flat, then slightly bend them down the middle and across the middle. This would leave the center of the roof slightly higher so water wouldn't puddle. These bends were supposed to be mainly on the center ribs, but the perimeter would get bent a little also.

Regarding unexpected unlatching - recently I spent time on a Jeep Badge or Honor Trail named Peters Mill Run in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. To my surprise two of the latches popped loose from flexing a few times. My buddy was also in a HD RAM with a FWC and he had one or two latches pop also. I have a checklist prior to departing and one of the last things I do is walk around the vehicle and count all six latches as being locked so I am 100% confident they were secure. These were not extreme trails either.

Good to know. We have a Hawk, front dinette model coming in Feb. '22. I've read a few other posts here and there about the latches coming undone. I'll be checking that after we start using ours.
