FYI about Chilton manual for 1983-1995 Pickups and Monteros

Hey guys, just an FYI!

Chilton's manual 50500 1983-1995 Mitsubishi Pickups and Montero.

I wrote in the correct sequence.

No **** Sherlock. But the fookin FSM isn't clear, and I have the paper version! When you have a diagram like the one expressed clearly in the Chilton's manual..... which one would you go with???

Well its CLEARLY incorrect so a lot of good a clear diagram did.

How is that wrong? It's not showing the firing order, it's showing the piston order.

Farthest front is #1, and the rest on that side are 'odd' (for a V8 that would be 1-3-5-7) and the second to the front is #2 (and for a V8 2-4-6-8)

I don't see where the manual is wrong?

Well, I should have marked the letters in the drawing above that also:

Spark Plug Cable #1
Spark Plug Cable #3
Spark Plug Cable #5

Which.... translates to:

2-1
4-3
6-5

Ah! My old fuzzy eyes couldn't cipher that. LOL I can barely make out the 'Spark plug Cable..', but not the #'s

The cylinder layout is correct (at least for a right hand drive rig)

Yeah, sorry for that.

So to be clear, the cylinder order is correct but the wiring sequence is not. In the FSM, it simply shows a drawing with the wires going to the corresponding cylinders...... but the criscross making it nearly impossible to decipher.

I can't make out the text in your picture to tell if it's wrong or not, so I'll have no comment on it. I certainly don't want to be called a smarty pants for making a comment.
