Yes: Roseann (Desert Rose), the conservation editor for Overland Journal, is flying up as part of the media team to cover it. She'll try to send updates - it looks like fun. Lately the G4 Challenge has placed renewed emphasis on vehicle skills, in addition to the adjunct sports.

The final event, for which the American competitors are qualifying next week, will be held somewhere in Asia (possibly Mongolia) next year.
