Gabex35's 4Runner Trail Build

I have the first production Shrockworks shipping out this week, and with that i had to make some decisions on upgrading the front. I ended up going simple and just upgraded the front coils from 550lbs to 650lbs to compensate for the bumper and VR10,000S i picked up. of all the things i'v done to this rig and the previous FJ, the one thing i was the most nervous about was bumping up coil rates. i paid a good amount for king and want to do everything possible to keep the plush ride the 550's gave me. I guess you have to pay to play though.

this weekend was a shakedown run for many of the new things i've added. I will be attending the FJ Cruiser Summit in Ouray, Co and visiting Moab, UT on the way back home, so i wanted to get the rig as dialed in as i could before the long trip.

Spent the weekend in Big Bear with some friends. The weather turned out to be fantastic and the wheeling was great as usual.

Awesome pics! I know all those trails. I go up to Bear every summer for my family trip. We take the whole fam in the excursion and go as far as we can down those trails...which usually isin't that far.

Where did you guys end up camping that night?

Also, I forgot if I've asked you already, but, where in SD are you?

After seeing a build page on TacomaWorld (Mcgrimm's Mall Crawler) i had to make a camp shower out of a scepter water can for the wife...it makes things easier when the wife is happy , so i decided to scrap the 4 gallon Rotopax for the CBI dual can carrier. the plan is to carry my modified water can with potable water and use it for all my camping uses, which will save room inside the rig too. the 5 gallon scepter not only looks cool, but also gives me an extra gallon of fuel over the rotopax. I purchased a good ol' 6' super siphon to refuel straight from swing out which will be great on my back.

Love what you did with the scepter cans and was wondering if you could give some info on this project. What parts were used and how does it perform?

It works quite well when under pressure. I may buy another cap when used specifically for water pouring only as the tube that goes to the bottom doesn't allow for it to be poured when no pressure is applied.

This is the video where I got the idea. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=POrNzl0wqXI

Still love you this build! Do you have any Night shots of all your lights on? Can't ait to see the new bumper, shockworks makes the best looking bumpers r the 4runner IMO. keep it up.

Thanks man, I haven't taken many night shots. I'll be sure to get some at the FJ summit and Moab in a few weeks.

Got my 650# coils on and rebuilt my UCA's (just the poly bushings). Sitting at about 39.5" from ground to bottom lip of fender. I am pleasantly surprised that it's not too stiff, and that's without the Shrockworks and winch on yet. I'll get it dialed in the next few weeks.
