I have seen a few rebuilt rigs go with Galvanizing. What parts of the Disco are being affected? I have had great success with POR15 on a few Jeep projects.

I've noticed galvanized Rover frames seem to be very popular, but I don't notice it much in other brands. I saw an FJ40 for the first time last week with a galv frame but never a jeep. Due to my jeep being a new england native I plan on going the POR15 route ASAP. One thing to note about glavanizing is it makes future fabrication/modification a royal PITA.

Thanks:) Hadn't even thought of using por-15. The tin worm seems to have gotten hold of the inner fenders and a couple of other choice spots. Is por-15 really that good?

My mog frames are done in POR and it works great, I would say its as good as galvanizing and you can touch it up. You do need to apply it properly and it will go very dull in UV light but its performance is not affected.

personally i'd avoid galvanizing if possible, as welding or touching it up later will be anywhere from royal pain to hazardous to your health. por15 is great stuff, it's on top of my belly skid and sliders, and all over various parts of the frame where there was any rust.

they even make a hi-temp version, por20, if you need/want to do exhaust parts.
