Anyone know the steps to change you speed Values with the gap tool so that you can Bring you Speedometer to the correct place for your tire size???

I attempted to use that feature a few years back with the iidtool on my LR4, and it resulted in a CEL, instantly without driving the car, and I had to revert it. After contacting GAP it was apparently not a working feature at the time. Could be that LR has some feature in the cars that prevents it, as it technically allows you to "play" with odometer reading for future accumulated miles..., or perhaps GAP needed to complete the feature from their side... Not sure what the status is from GAP, ask them, but it didn't work a few years back.

Hi Guys,
When we first implemented this function it did not work properly as ar4me mentioned. We have since found the bug.

The function is in the Car Config menu: Menu>Car Config>Instrument Pack>Tyre Radius.

I got it set up last night with a 407 radius not I'm throwing a 501 wheel speed sensor code. Lol

Nice! I am going to try it.

I helped beta test this function at the outset, first with the CEL as Steve mentioned and then with the fix. Be sure to measure the radius of the tire with the tire under the full weight of the vehicle and with the tire properly inflated to the correct PSI....measure from the exact center of the hub of the rim straight down to the ground. You do not want to base the radius on the tire specification of the diameter and divide by 2....you want to actually measure it under full weight to get the precise radius.

I've had my LR3 set with the radius for my Cooper Zeon LTZ 285/60/18s for several years now with zero issues and the speed is spot on with GPS.

It took me a while playing the tyre diameter size with the IIDtool to find one that didn't throw up speed sensor and locking out the cruise control with 275/65R18s. I can't remember off the top of my head what I've ended up at but I can check in the morning. I'm about 2-3mph out at 65mph now.

What are the other parameters for that also appear relevant for this in that section?
Tire Aspect Ratio:
Tire Size (rolling circumference):
Tire Width:
Wheel rim diameter:
Tyre Rolling Radius:

Mine reflect the original tire size of 255/55-19. The correct values for my 275/65-18 tires/rims would be 65 %, 2560 mm, 275 mm, 18 inch, 407 mm - if calculated theoretically without compression of the tire (which isn't correct according to above). Regardless, the circumference cannot be set to anything above 2385 mm... Lastly, what is the field named “Tyre Size MSB - IPC” for?

Well, that doesn't seem to do anything on a 2010 LR4 - tried changing the 372 mm (stock setting for 255/55-19) to 394 mm, but it remains showing too low by the same 3 mph at 70 mph.

So, on the LR4 it is different!

Changing the parameter “Tyre Size MSB - IPC” is the ticket, NOT the “Tyre Rolling Radius - ABS”! For my 275/65-18 tires a value of 30 gets the speedo bang on.

'Mates - since the internet info is spotty and incomplete just throwing in here as to what worked for my '14 LR4, which weirdly is not the same as ar4me's above in the '10 he sold.

In the case of at least one 2014 SCV6 Lr4, Tyre Rolling Radius is what works. In my case I set the theoretical value for my 285/60R18's, was a wee bit low, dropped down 1mm, now I'm spot-on in agreement with GPS. Interesting how many engine re-starts the GAP tool cycles through to upload this change to the CCF (car configuration file).
