I have a 60c. The base maps (at least in canada) are VERY basic. Just the major highway in my province and not much else. However this GPS works well with "city Navagator" and Topo maps.

KMET is correct. The base map contains all interstate highways and major state roadways in the US and Canada. It will keep you from getting lost, but to do turn-by-turn directions you need the US streetmap. It has been more than sufficient for me.
