Garmin Tread XL Screen Material?

Maybe I am searching wrong, but I am about to purchase a Tread XL Overland Edition (not interested in a tablet) and can't figure out what the screen is made of. I think my watch is Gorilla Glass but looking at the specs for the GPS all I see is 'glass'.

Being a GPS user for 20ish years I always buy screen protectors- but am not thinking I don't need one for the Tread XL.

Have the XT2 for my motorcycle and seems pretty durable so far, am hoping the Tread XL is the same.

Am hoping a user of one of the Treads could chime in on their experiences with the screen so far...

Thanks for any input...

Glass is hard and won't become abraded by fingers. If it's really glass AND you have no plans to use it in a way that it could be dropped or bashed into a hard object, you shouldn't need a protector.

...guess that is why I just wanted to verify. Hopefully someone can still chime in...pretty sure how I will be using it, if it is a decent glass material, I shouldn't need screen protection, but just wanted to verify people aren't having issues with the 8 and 10inch screens. I ordered the 10inch version.

Thanks!
