Gas strut on Dometic CFX50 - best spot to attach?

Our configuration won't allow for opening the lid fully. So I plan to add a gas strut I already have.

Recommendations for best attachment point on Dometic CFX50? Inside, outside, which end to install in to avoid important bits, etc.?

Interested to see what you come up with. I remember at one point seeing someone who put a strut on theirs but I can't recall where I saw it.
