Did the gen 2 and 2.5's have a mechanism to either lock the rear door in the open position or just dampen / slow the movement? When I am parked on an angle the door is a guillotine. I'd love to fix it if it can be fixed.
Thanks!

open the door full, there should be a flat metal bar along the bottom corner under the hinges that connects between body and the door.

when the door is pushed open wide, push the flat metal lip toward the corner a little, and it will catch. To close door, push door and pull metal lip.

Lol, backdoor...

Yeah, what he said though. The black door bar to the right on the bottom acts as a catch when pushed forward.

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
Yeah the old Gen 1's didn't have this feature and would sneak up and murder you for almost no reason.

There is nothing better than discovering something useful on these trucks that you never knew was there, that is simple to operate, and doesn't require fixing to make it work. Thanks for the replies. The forum pays off again.

So next question, what is the roll of the device about half way up that is greased and goes inside the door as you close it? The black bar.
