Just bough a 1999 Montero - looking for a few parts that are missing or need replacing. I am located in North San Diego county. Thought I would check here.
  1. Rear chrome bumper
  2. Last row seats + hardware (need both seats - gray, leather interior)
  3. OEM radio w/Infinity package
  4. Reasonable set of wheels/tires - looking for a temporary wheel/tire set with some tread life remaining
Thanks.

Pretty sure I have the Infinity stereo, and the CD changer too. I’ll check tonight when I get home.

What's your budget for tires? And which wheels are on it currently? Do you need just the chrome section or bumper end caps as well?

I have 2nd row and 3rd row seats in grey leather, free for the taking. I'm in the Pasadena area. They came out of a '97 gen 2.

Thanks for the seats offer - I will take the 3rd row seats. I will PM you to set up a time.

I definitely need the chrome section, if the end caps are silver and nice I would be interested in them as well - but mainly the chrome. I will PM you.
As far as wheels go, I currently have the stock chrome rims but the tires are shot. I am either looking for something decent to get me by in terms of tires - budget for this would be pretty low as I could use my current rims and go buy 4 semi decent tires for around $450 so I would need to buy this type of set up for around $250. If you have a nicer set of wheels that I could get excited about (15x7 or 15x8 black rims with better quality AT tires (30-31") then I could pay more.

Thanks for reaching out. I already have the CD changer (not sure if it fully works or not - it seems to function). If you were getting ready to throw the CD changer away, I would take it in case mine doesn't work correctly, I am more interested in the stereo.

Thanks guys.

I hate to hi-jack but this is just what I needed as I need a few parts for my 2.5 after getting stuck in those Avalanches/snow storms in Colorado you probably saw on the news:

  • Gen 2.5 Front bash gaurd (Gen 2 SR won't work, the bolt holes don't line up)
  • The (plastic?!) feeder plug/breather for the front diff
I just found out Mitsubishi US really doesn't care about its customers now when it comes to parts, though I read here it was the case even before the Nissan take over, and no one can find that plug. She took a beating through Utah and Vail pass, but she made it home with just RWD. Damn, I love these rigs you can keep your landcruisers and range rovers, unless we can sneak in the older Nissan Patrol (the current Armada isn't a Patrol by any standard) I don't think I'll ever buy another type of SUV except a Montero.

Thanks, gents!

Oh, and OP, I got a SR in SoCal with stocks and decent tread tires if that's what your looking for, I can try and get pics if needed. I'd just need your old take offs and some cash.

You could also take the rear bumper trim, but the plastic ends on the drivers side is messed up.

You'd have to be able to wrench on your own as I'm in CO for the time being. PM me if you're interested and when you could come do it.

Nevermind you already sourced those rear seats it seems.

  • The (plastic?!) Vent Plug for the front diff on a Gen 2.5 (Part Number: MB160950) Part listed as 32292 in the diagram below.

    503894

So, after some leg work and trying to hunt the part down, I found the part number and tried to source it from any US based manufacturer that may have used it: Mitsubishi, Hyundai/Kia, and Dodge.

Unfortunately, none of them have it and no longer support the part or have it in stock in the entire US. So, it seems you'll have to source from Japan or Korea depending on availability. Hyundai still made the Galloper until 2003, and apparently there is a strong community of owners out there so that may be the best bet as Mitsubishi doesn't really care much for old chassis support.

I rigged up a semi decent setup for now, but the line isn't feeding the diff anymore as its essentially squeezed off and only has an expanding plug I found at Ace Hardware on my way through Vail.

Looking at it, I could go to home-depot and try to make something similar from an AN fitting or something, but the problem is that the diff fill hole is not knurled and will likely happen again under tricky weather.

Found my radio! You are welcome to it. I'm in Irvine. Couldn't find the disc changer. I know I have it, just not sure where.....
