Gen III Noise When Braking

So I am pretty sure I have seen this issue discussed in the forum before but can not seem to find the thread despite searching for quite some time.

I have a 2001 Limited which just started making a distinct noise when braking and occasionally when driving. When the brake pedal is depressed a loud chirp, chirp, chirp sound is made. It also happens intermittently while driving and not pressing the brake pedal but happens every time when braking. The sound also happens in a series of three chirps every time.

Any help or info would be appreciated or a link to a thread describing this issue and the fix.

I imagine it is the brake booster, hoping for easy fix.

Thanks

Hey, I have a similar problem. Mine is only a single "chirp" and it happens when while I press on the brake, and occasionally after I let up. It doesn't happen when I first press the brake pedal, but a half-second or so later, while I'm holding down on it. Does that sound like the accumulator too?
