Getting interference on my Yaesu 7900

I run a 100 AH battery in the bed of my Tacoma along with my electric fridge. The battery gets power from the alternator to charge and also powers a fuse block. My fridge runs off a 12 volt outlet I hooked up to that fuse block. When I installed my Yaesu, I put the faceplate under my stereo and attached the body of the radio to the back of my cab. I figured I could avoid electrical interference by running the power wires to my auxiliary battery. It is closer also. I had no issues with my radio till yesterday when I turned on the fridge. I could figure out with the weird interference was on the radio till I put 2 and 2 together. Shut off the fridge and the Yaesu sounded good again.

Is there anyway to shield my power lines from the fridge?

Yes. ferrite chokes, some call them, ferrite beads. They help eliminate RF noise.

Fridges are pretty notorious interference generators. Choke the power feed to the fridge at both ends, can't hurt to do the same on the radio. Ideally the power and return lines (e.g. positive and negative) on your noise generating and noise susceptible devices will be equal lengths. I like the Blue Sea Systems power blocks with the negative bus bars for this, makes it easy to run 2-conductor hook-ups.

I get ferrite cores and beads at CWS Bytemark, but there are other places.
