Glove reccomendation

Please post pictures of gloves you would reccomend for commuting and street riding. I went on a long ride last weekend and the lightweight gloves I have had 'hot spots' and poor ventilation. I'm more of a "dress for the crash" kind of guy. I reall would not like to injur my hands or wrists.

Tourmaster?
Cortech?
Alpine$tars?

Others I might look at?

With gloves, I don't look for specific brands.

In the summer, I like perforated leather, in the winter, I like either non-perf leather, or some synthetics (w/leather palms).

It comes down to what fits, and what time of year it is. Just like a good pair of work gloves, I look for something with flat seams, tapered fingers, and a fairly snug fit. They only last a season or two before they start to get stiff and uncomfortable, so I replace them as needed. Price range is usually somewhere in the neighborhood of $30 - $50/pair (for the gloves I end up with).

Hot spots in gloves are more a function of the pressure your hands are putting on the bars, than the gloves -- at least in my experience. If you still have the stock bars on your CM400, you may be putting excessive pressure on your palm between your pinkie and wrist. I cut the bars down on my CM400 for a couple reasons -- and that was one of them.

I like short gloves without a gauntlet, I do a fair amount of dirt riding. My latest are the Cortech Accelerator, they seem to vent OK and with about 6 months use they haven't fallen apart. I like knuckle protection because I got hit in South American and ended up in a guardrail and the Held gloves I was wearing saved my knuckles from being destroyed. Held now seems to have gotten cheaper in manufacturing and my last pair fell apart at the seams rather quickly.

I was looking at the cortech gloves (with the gauntlet) and ordered them but Then was told they are no longer available. I'm waiting for a pair of Joe Rockets to show up to see if they are what I like.

I never have liked gloves with gauntlets. The jackets I have had don't seem to like having that much extra material and I like my gloves to be inside the jacket, not outside. This helps prevent rain from getting inside and seems more comfortable to me.

My desire for a gauntlet type glove is based on my preception (flawed?) that stinging bugs are less likely to gain access to bare skin. I have only been riding since October of last year so I am definetly a newbie when it comes to opinions.

My priorities for this pair of gloves are:
1 Injury mitigation
2 cool/ventilation
3 price

I have a pair of AlpineStar winter gloves that I am pleased with but they are just too warm in the summer-time.
