GM 6.5 liter diesel.

The 6.5L gets a bad rap, but really, it's a very decent engine. The worst thing about the 94 and later 6.5L's is their quirky electronic injection pumps. Once you know what to look for and how to work on them, they're great!

I have 268,000 miles on my electronic 6.5L, and I still love her!

One day, I want to swap the electronic injection pump out for a mechanical pump. However, there are a few obstacles to overcome to make everything work the way I want. The cruise control and electronic-control automatic transmission are two big factors.

I've owned several 6.2L's and 6.5L's over the past 18 years now.

Thanks for the info Casey. This truck I am looking at has the 6.5 and 364000km. He has done a sas with a dana 60 out of a 92 ford F350. He said it was a solid runner when he parked it a year ago. Always good to have the latest info on what to look out for as I know very little about diesels....Cheers, Chilli...:)

Well after replacing the steering column, rear tailgate, front windsheild, and fixing a fuel leak the Yukon runs cherrry.

Dana 60 up front does not hurt either....
