that's good to know! I was gonna stay away from bumpers due to weight concerns but this might make me reconsider

I have been seeing vans like this while searching

http://www.commercialtrucktrader.com/listing/2010-Chevrolet-Express-G3500--117872019

passenger long wheel base, 155, 3500 with a quigley conversion and a roll cage?!?

I'm guessing oil company transport vans due to the 4x4 and roll cage but can anyone shed any light? thanks

I've been curious about them too. The Quigley long wheel base could be a nice rig but I wonder how hard those 150k miles were... I notice that one has a brake controller so it must have spent some time towing. The question is how much time and how much weight...

PEOPLE MOVERS ??? FOR OIL RIGS-FLORIDA ?? HOW MUCH HARD USE

If they are just people movers then why the cage though? Seems like a big expense if it's really just a shuttle van.

Falling gear from cranes or platforms? Trees falling on access roads? I would want a roll cage if I was operating in a construction zone...

Good points. I would too!

Someone on here bought one recently I think. Will have to go find that thread and see what he's finding for condition of the rig.

this info is applicable for any rig... : )

I LOVE decals... BUT I typically don't have any on the rear of the van these days. All you see in the image below are on the sides of boxes except the big white mountain decal on the galley box. I'd rather not have someone distracted while reading stickers on the back of the van and miss judge distance !

For any lettering type decals i'd like to recommend "DoItYourselfLettering.com" < < no relation, just a happy customer.
The owner gets right back to you on any Q's. 100% satisfied.

I work in the oil industry, these are most likely not from the oil industry. These "roll cages" look pretty useless to me, bolted to the floor and no cross bracing. I would say the rafting or tourist industry, or maybe mining.

Hi All:
New here and shopping for a Express/Savana AWD. I have a question about the headlights. It isn't a critical factor but I can't seem to figure out the pattern.
Some have dual headlights and some single. I have seen descriptors that indicate the dual are better. At first I thought the difference was between passenger (dual) and cargo (single) though now I am seeing passenger models with singles and vice versa. Is it an LS vs. LT thing?
Thanks for all the inspiration,
-G

I can't say on the differences on models, I can say our stock cargo awd came with the singles that we swapped out for Truck Lite LEDs that get solid reviews by users. They really through out usable light and are well worth the simple install & cost.

Cool, thanks.
The other question I have is axle ratios. Is it correct that 3.4x is standard and 3.7x is a option? If so, is it also correct that if I found a van that was otherwise good for me but not the 3.7x I want I'd have to change the gears in both the front and rear axles? Is that even doable reasonably?
Thanks again, you guys are great,
-G
