My neighbors 6.0 2500 suburban has one too.

I'm finding that the GMT800 crowd is pretty resourceful and not into all the crap the Jeep, Rover and Yota guys are into :)

Sorry if I missed something- not on here much recently-

I was looking into this back in the day and ended up going with a Ford gas tank rather than the 8.1's. You get a full 8-9 more gallons (18-20 gallon tank), which made it worth it for me. I just posted about it in another thread, but here's the writeup in my buld thread from a bit ago. Hope it helps and looks like you are going down the right track!

Thanks for the info Burb One. I appreciate it. I'll take a look at those part numbers and your threads (y)

Here's some pics I found online. The secondary tank has its own pump that triggers when the main tank gets to a certain level. Supposedly 11 gallons from what I have read but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I'd love to fine one in the wrecking yard and pull it to check fitment. That would be cool if it fit in a Tahoe.
Did this ever go anywhere? Anyone check to see if it works in the Tahoe?

Good luck with the skid plate. Interested to see that develop. (y)

A body lift would give tons of room back there for sure. (y)

Any closeup pics of your brackets?

I've been working on some in CAD. I laser scanned my roof and started working on a rack model.

That rack design is SICK ive been looking everywhere for a design like this. I even was about to learn cad to design it myself...

StomperXJ those roof rack brackets you designed in CAD look great. You gonna make them? I wouldn't mind trying to put something like that on my own rig, probably would get my roof rack an inch or so lower to the roof and look better too.
Bump!

Not been brought up but I thought someone might find it interesting. Made what I call a camper box/drawer to keep all my WW gear and camping gear in, still allows me to fit a full size blow up dol... I mean mattress across the back for sleeping... Pretty cozy!

Some photos just show a slide out platform, but one shows the update I've done where I added a box with a hinged lid. Also run a sub off the front of the box and an inverter. Front of box between the wall of the box and the drawer when it's closed houses 2 deep cycle batteries that I can charge via solar.

I'll try to take more photos and post them.

Looking forward to it as well. I'm sure a lot of folks will be interested in them.

Speaking of related things, I have a couple factory Z-71 roof rack crossbraces to sell, if anyone is interested. Just PM me. Eventually I'll get a pic and advertise them here and elsewhere. Just thought I'd mention them in this topic, since it is about GMT800s
