Thank you for your service.

Looking forward to doing COTA on my MV Agusta F3 800:

Nice! I'm looking forward to getting back on two wheels in a few years. Had to sell the RC51 and 919 when I became a dad. I use to ride them to work...buuut since neither can hold a baby seat they ended up sitting for two years before I sold them :-(

Yeah, I gave up riding for general transportation purposes about five years ago. And now that we are in Texas where entertaining roads are rare, my MV Agusta will mostly be used just for track days.

No kidding.

We made it to our new home in Waco today.

650 miles became 750 miles due to a navigational error, but we did get to see Cadillac Ranch and drove through Fort Worth.

With a top speed of 66 mph in an ex-military truck, it was a LONG day...
Once again I suggest you consider replacing the transfer case with an Oshkosh 55000. It’s used in 8x8 HEMTT with 500 hp and 80k GVW.
So it won’t break. 66mph now results in 2140 rpm, 340 above peak hp; very fuel inefficient, probably unbearably noisy, etc - right up against the governor. The 55000 would give 1670@66 and 1400 (ideal rpm for economy, noise, wear) at 55 which is max tire rating. Blowouts of huge tires at speed in a high COG vehicle aren’t fun.
One could buy a professionally rebuilt 55000 for $7500 from wartimefinds. I estimate a 20% reduction in fuel consumption would save $12k in 100k miles.
Waco is pretty far from the Rockies...
And you get low range for a bonus.

Thanks, Charlie, but we will never put anything even remotely resembling 100K miles on this thing- I'll be surprised if we put another 10K miles on it...

The F3 was the last motorcycle designed by the late Massimo Tamburini, "the Michelangelo of Motorcycles".

It cracks me up when Harley-Davidson "lifestyle enthusiasts" refer to my MV Agusta as a "Jap bike", when their impotent morbidly obese two-wheeled whoopie cushions are a whole heck of a lot more Japanese than my hand-built Italian exotic.

I recently purchased a 2007 Oshkosh MTVR. We intend to convert it into an overland expedition type vehicle and do full-time RV living.

Eh?
So you never intend to leave your driveway?
Or the local KOA? :ROFLMAO:

We put 5k+ on ours every year traveling, and we are not even full timing it yet....

There are some "twisties" by my house and I always got a laugh of the Harley guys trying to keep up with me when I was on my RC51. Usually by the second turn I could no longer hear their grossly inefficient, over weight, noise makers behind me...haha.
