GoFSR Adventure 49 Automatic Hard shell owners- wind/rain?

Hey guys,

Wondering if there are any GoFSR M49 automatic hardshell owners that can chime in. I've searched everywhere for videos/reviews and all I can find is content of the tent opening and closing via electric motors, which is cool, but not where my priorities lay.

I'm sitting debating between the A49 auto or CVT Mt Baker hard shell since I can't find any local used Autohome/JB/etc in my price range. I like that the GoFSR design is a natural awning over the side entrance, which most hard shells lack. This design also presents a huge wind sail that is the hard shell itself. Has any owner ever had any experience or worries is strong 30+ mph) gusts? Also, how is the noise in rain? I have slept in an ABS hard shell that was un-insulated and it was extraordinarily loud with every rain drop. With the CVT Mt Baker, I could feasibly pull the headliner and install sound deadening, though the goFSR is headliner-less since it is the awning and thus would be quite unsightly with bare deadening showing (though thats nitpicky).

I'm going hardshell for ease of set up and take down, as well as reduced wind noise. I lost many nights of sleep in the full softshell tepui in wind and the GoFSR seems to have just as much fabric as a standard shoftshell since the hardshell is just awning. Maybe it's not as bad as it looks ,but it also may be a worthy trade off since there doesn't seem to be as many flaps/doors on the A49 to flap...

Thanks,
Justin
