The main battrrry is a Oddessey 34R
I did not unplug the fuse box either, there is enough room to work the tray without having to.
I just picked up a ARB Premium Front bumper with a Warn M8000 winch for someone on craigslist. The front end is sagging so I am going to throw on a Teraflex leveling kit for now until I decide which why I am going with my build... Also a rugged ridge front skid plate to protect the electronic disconnect.
I did drive a buddies 2012 JK with the AEV 2.5 without the correction brackets and I liked it. But mine still rides better IMO stock... I am really hoping the leveling kit works so I don't have to go down the lifted road... Time will tell
Thanks for the kind words
Thanks for the info. I was hoping I didn't have to unplug the fusebox!
I had the ARB, winch and the TF leveling kit on my 2010 and it still sagged. The stock springs just can't handle the weight and over time at least with mine, it got worse. Where you really notice the difference with the AEV lift is in the cornering and braking, especially at speed. Even my 2013 Rubicon, which rides about the same as the AEV, maybe slightly stiffer, does not corner as well, most notably on freeway transition ramps. I have found I have to slow down much more without the AEV lift. The stock suspension is just not what I would call confidence inspiring in the handling department. The more weight you put on or in the JK the worse it gets.
Tire selection and pressure can also drastically affect ride as you know, so these things must be taken into account as well. Hoping to get my lift back on by the end of the month, I can actually say I miss it. IMO the stock suspension is ok, but when you start adding heavy things like bumpers and winches, it just can't keep up.
Good luck with your decisions, so many options out there, it can be tough!
