Who is on the team?

REX
From the forum:

expeditionswest (Team Commander in support of the crew)
Alpinehooha (Rider - Going to ride a whole lap doing a wheelie - on the front wheel.)
Edgear (Support team - there to provide help when I sieze up like the tin-man in a rain storm.)
Trailsurfer (Ringer - we didn't even warn the competition he was coming. I wonder if that's fair?)

Other OJ hammers - Micki, a ringer from Pivot Cycles. Katrina who packs hurricane force bike mojo. Steve rounds out the OJ team and brings some thigh power to the table.

That's a pretty awesome team! I'll be a team of one in the solo singlespeed category.

Can you hear that noise? Listen carefully.....ya...THAT noise.

That's my heart beating like it's bell lap because I'm friggin' nervous as all get out. I've never done a solo. Gulp.

Good luck guys!

Especially you Flounder... I know the fear you mentioned. I am doing my first solo 24 this year too. Training up for it with a 12 hr, 6 hr, 100k and 40 mile races, but I will still be more nervous than you are I am sure.... have a blast!

Flounder, Alpine Hoo Haa and and I arrived yesterday and have got the camp set up. The rest of the crew and racers arrive today. We will try and post some pics over the next few days.

That was serious fun, everyone! What a great bunch of people to hang out with for a few days. I'll leave the final report for AlpineHooHa, and I know Scott shot off a ton of great photos.

Trailsurfer - You're the man. Great to ride with you. I woke up at 7am, milled around and decided to throw down two more laps back to back and tried to get back by 11am to see you off, but I missed you by 10 minutes.

I ended up with 6 laps (100ish miles), which is far less than I had hoped by at least 3, but in retrospect I felt really crappy on race day. By dawn I was ready to throw down and feeling much better. 10 laps in 2011!

I can already see the Overland Journal Team really tearing it up in 2011.

Great seeing you Christophe and I think that considering how you were feeling that is IMPRESSIVE. Right on! :bike_rider:

Nice to meet you Trailsurfer!

Great race, good times. The night laps were tough... since my light didn't work. Then I borrowed another one and it was a blast to do another night lap.
The laps the next morning seemed easy just because... I could SEE the cactus! :Wow1:

Great job Team OJ!!

Tim,
You posted excellent lap times with or without a bum light. 15 laps for 3.5 riders is pretty good. I'm still really bummed I wasn't feeling tip top on race day. I know I was good for at least 8 laps. As they say - Next year.

Hope to see you at the Whiskey Offroad on the 24th of April. Should be another good showing of the overland riders.

Christophe
