Well, like the title says I thought I would see if anyone here has a recommendation for a good motorcycle shop or mechanic local to the Prescott area. I just bought an '06 Suzuki DR650 from a guy near Phoenix, but it doesn't seem to be running all that great up here. Took the bike into Star Island Motorsports for an overall inspection and told them about the issue. They said they played with carb adjustments but nothing was better so they left it the way it was when brought in. Mechanic there said he thought it might be a valve issue but most likely not carb related. I have noticed the problem is a little worse since they worked on it.
As for the issue, the engine seems a little rough at lower rpm's. If the bike is at idle and I burp the throttle real quick, it sometimes stalls out the engine. I don't feel too safe riding it on the street as every tenth time or so pulling away from a stop in 1st gear will kill the engine. Also at slow speeds in 1st gear noticed some surging or jolting where the bike will suddenly accelerate briefly only to stumble and slow the next brief moment when trying to smoothly accelerate. Being a total beginner to motorcycles I'm not sure how much it would help me to inspect the carb or fiddle with it myself. This is on an '06 DR650 with two brothers exhaust, K&N filter, and dynojet jet kit, with 5,000 miles on it.
