I had a bit of a time removing the old bar. It didn't just slide out, I had to use some force and carefully pound it out. It was shimmed with thin strips of metal along the top and bottom. The bolt holes for the arm are much larger than the bolts themselves. I tapped the arm into place and tightened the bolts. I have the unit off of my truck during this whole process. When I went to close the lid it was skewed to the passenger side a bit. I loosened the bolts and backed it out but then it was skewed front to back. I then realized it was on different size blocks side to side so I was right the first time. The unit was slightly twisted side to side. I placed it on a level floor and now it lines up fine. The old bar was cracked more than I could see from the outside. Many hairline cracks along the top of the bar. A major problem waiting to happen. Thanks for AT getting me the arm very quickly. Bella's instructions with photos were the biggest help.
