Goodbye old friends

Well, by tomorrow I should be saying goodbye to my very well worn BFG AT's. They've lasted 62,000 miles almost exactly and if I were a little more of a spendthrift I could legally put another few thousand on them. They've gone from 17/32s of tread to 6/32s. They've been through heavy rains, diff dragging snow, gravel roads, logging roads, forest trails, sandy beaches, river crossings and thousands upon thousands of highway miles. They've gotten us through all this with only one tread puncture and that was from a nail in our yard. They do have some torn lugs (nothing serious) and the sidewalls are scuffed beyond being visually appealing but they've lasted. I very seriously thought about getting another set, but in the end decided to try something new; which arrived over the weekend. I can honestly say the BFG All Terrain KO's have lived up to their name. I would give these tires an excellent recommendation for anyone who puts tons of highway miles on their vehicle but still requires an "anywhere and back again" tire.

I'm glad to read you like them so much. I just got a set in the same size for my Tacoma and will be using them as you described - lots of highway commuting and those weekend out-and-back trips.

Don't think i've ever seen anyone or heard of anyone getting that much mileage out of a BFG. That's amazing.:clapsmile

I've had two sets of BFG A/T's and always got at least 50,000 miles, but 62k is spectacular. The alignment gods must smile on you. :Mechanic:

Tease! Could you be more vague? I'm practicing my mind reading skills....

I'm kinda dissapointed to hear you got that many miles on your KO's because that means I have almost 30K before I should be looking for a different set.

Jim65wagon is meticoulus in the care and feeding of his Tundra, that truck being only slightly lower in importance than his wife and kids, and he would gladly give his life for them. I'm not so sure he would make the ultimate sacrifice for his Toy, but it would cross his mind for a brief second.

Well met Haggis, hmm where could we have crossed paths? :friday:

3 years of service, yeah that's only about 20,000 a year...
One alignment was done, right after the small lift. And tire rotation every 5000 miles.
As far as being vague, I figured it could be a fun way to open an new thread.

Forswooth and what not! Oh jim65wagon
Per chance it was in the midst of battle, blood and steel raining down upon our foes, or in the deepest woods stalking the elusive prey for which to feed our clan and kin, or at a swap meet buying junk for our heaps, or maybe it was at your wedding (I was the guy standing next to you in the monkey suit), or cruising through Layafette puttin the spank on the guy in the camaro with that wagon. So on and so forth...
