Got a wild hair - M101A2 Build

Here are pics of the awnings: (I lied, there are 2 vertical supports for the rear awning).

After the awnings were mounted, I installed a license plate holder with a nifty LED light from Autozone. I also installed small LED's for side markers and hid them under the foot pad of the electric trailer jacks as I hoped it would help them cast more light - they did just that.


Also cut off the handles of the outriggers and welded 3/8" drives so I didn't have to worry about the handles making a racket going down the road.

I then made brackets to hold the two 6V batteries and used two 10" pipes to make my propane tank holders as Ron finished the wiring. It was almost ready for its maiden voyage. After cleaning up the shop, I hooked up to the trailer to take it home to load all the internal components. As I drove away, Tom stopped me and said there was a problem with the wiring. The lights were flickering on and off. I drove it home anyway. The next day, my Uncle TJ gave me a hand finishing the electrical connections on the trailer and troubleshooting the light problem. After resolving the problem, a bad ground, we loaded the internal components and tested all systems. It was ready but not finished. Here are pics of the internal components, and setup on its maiden voyage:

Looks good. Mines getting harder to tell it was a M101.

Everything worked as I had hoped. I could not be any happier with the results! I will use it a few more times before I call it it good and move onto its final stages. In the meantime, I am creating a "TO DO" list...

Things on the to do list:

1. Add LED lights to the underside of the lid.
2. Add Magnetic LED Ligt to rear of lid for kitchen lighting.
3. Clean up all welds.
4. Mountain bike mounts on top of lid.
5. Build table holder between the trusses of the lid.
6. Electrical:
a. Add inverter and a converter
b. Add shore plug to the tongue box
c. Mount the switch for the extend/retract in the tongue box (all other switches mounted already)
d. Add a battery disconnect
e. Install Goal Zero Guardian and Yeti 1250 solar generator
f. Install back up lights
7. Finish building the Scanoe Rack
8. Build a spare tire holder under the trailer or may build a swing out tire carrier on the rear
9. Disassemble and prep for paint. Frame, tub and top painted to match my truck. Wheels powdercoated black.
10. Mount Hi-Lift, AX and Shovel.
11. Install water tanks and tankless hot water heater/shower.
12. Canvas made for the sides when lid in top position.


That's it for now... Sorry I did not do a better job of the actual build process.

Trailer looks great. I am starting a build with similar features, our designs are very similar. Any updated pictures?
